Join The National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care After Health Care Reform Brings About the Most Significant Improvements and Changes in a Generation
We are seeking interns for this fall. The Consumer Voice was founded by Elma L. Holder in 1975 to protect the rights, safety and dignity of America’s long-term care residents. For 35 years, the organization has worked with its members to carry out its mission to inform, educate and empower consumers; equip citizen groups and ombudsman programs to be effective advocates for residents; and promote best practices in care delivery and the enforcement of quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about long-term care and grassroots advocacy while gaining experience at a nonprofit.
We have internships available in the following areas:
- Consumer Advocacy
- Event Planning
- Communications
- Web Development
- Development
- Policy
Internship Details:
Internships are for fall 2010 – a commitment is needed through the beginning of December. We require a minimum time commitment of 15 hours per week (up to 35). This is an unpaid internship; however, we are happy to assist students to receive academic credit for their internship. Candidates must be detail oriented, have exceptional writing and computer skills and willingness to work on a wide range of projects.
The Consumer Voice is located at 1828 L Street, NW – just a short walk from two metro stops, Dupont Circle, the National Mall and more! Bonus! Free membership to our state of the art gym in the building.
