National Healthcare Decisions Day, designated as April 16, is a national initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding their healthcare and provide information on advanced healthcare decision-making to the public as well as healthcare providers. Participating organizations will provide information and tools for the public to talk about their healthcare wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers, and execute written advance directives (healthcare power of attorney and living will) in accordance with state laws. The day will highlight 50 state events supported by a national media and public education campaign.
