Virginia Consumers for Quality Care, No Matter Where

State Focus

Virginia is focusing on identifying as many consumers as possible to be interviewed for the Consumers Perspective on Quality Care report. The council wants to take full advantage of this opportunity to speak to consumers and learn about their experience with home care. Once the has a sense of the consumer perspective on the state of home care in Virginia, it will assess possible related areas for increased council education and advocacy work and focus related to consumer needs. The group is also working to learn which other state organizations and groups are working on HCBS issues and what those issues are.

Consumer Perspective on Quality Care Report

The National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care, a national organization that advocates for people receiving long-term care, and several organizations across the country and in your state are working to improve the quality of home care in Virginia and nationwide. We can’t accomplish that without hearing from people like you. We want to know what you think makes for good care and services at home.

Please share your ideas! There are two easy and convenient ways you can do this:

  • Participate in a short (30 minute) phone interview. Someone will call you at a time that is good for you and ask you a few questions. If interested contact Alia Murphy, Associate, Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program at 202-332-2275 ext. 222 or amurphy@theconsumervoice.org.

Participation will not affect your care or any benefits you receive. Your answers will remain confidential (unless you give permission to share your information).

Information from you and other consumers will be used to write a report for policymakers with recommendations about how to make home care better in Virginia and nationwide.

More information about sharing your experience or becoming a volunteer to help interview consumers can be found in the flyers available below:
