Ohio Consumers for Quality Care, No Matter Where
State FocusOhio is working to increase the visibility and awareness of the long-term care ombudsman program’s services to consumers receiving care at home. It is starting by conducting education and outreach in three areas of the state. The state advisory council has developed a publication about the home care advocacy of the ombudsman program and is distributing it to home care consumers and their families as well as agencies/entities that work with home care consumers. The Ohio group will track if there is an increase in ombudsman work on HCBS cases following the flyer’s distribution. Members of the Ohio State Advisory Council
Meeting NotesThe meeting notes will be posted soon. Consumer Perspective on Quality Care ReportThe National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care, a national organization that advocates for people receiving long-term care, and several organizations across the country and in your state are working to improve the quality of home care in Ohio and nationwide. We can’t accomplish that without hearing from people like you. We want to know what you think makes for good care and services at home. Please share your ideas! There are two easy and convenient ways you can do this:
Participation will not affect your care or any benefits you receive. Your answers will remain confidential (unless you give permission to share your information). Information from you and other consumers will be used to write a report for policymakers with recommendations about how to make home care better in Ohio and nationwide. More information about sharing your experience or becoming a volunteer to help interview consumers can be found in the flyers available in below: • Consumer Flyer – English Back to the Consumers for Quality Care, No Matter Where webpage
